Lodge Enterprise No. 400 October Meeting

The last Wednesday night meeting of Lodge Enterprise No.400 was held on the 2nd of October. This meeting would have been its Installation night, but because of the forthcoming Consolidation with Lodge Friendship, the officers of the Lodge will continue in their respective positions. So there was no Installation ceremony.

The Address to the Wor Master was delivered by the Immediate Past Master, Wor Bro David Marshall, after which the Lodge Enterprise Orchestra played “Jealousy” which was specially requested by our Worshipful Master, Very Wor Bro Barry Stephenson. Wor Bro David Padgett then presented the Address to the Wardens and the orchestra presented another musical item for the pleasure of the brethren.  The Address to the Brethren was presented by Wor Bro George Leask. At its conclusion, the Orchestra once again entertained the brethren with a couple of old favourites. Each item the orchestra played brought rousing applause from the brethren present.

Rt. Wor Bro Raymond Pattinson was given the freedom of the Lodge to present this month’s birthday boys to the brethren. Those celebrating their birthdays were Wor Bro Arthur Rolph and Bro Ron Treay. Rt. Wor Bro Pattinson requested their sons to come forward and be the first to congratulate their fathers. Once again the usual birthday song was heard within the Lodge room.

Further words of welcome were given to the District Grand Inspector of Workings of Districts 41 and 43, V. Wor Bro Gary Herrett. After providing information on the changes to the Districts and Regions of NSW and the ACT, and other Masonic items of interest, V. Wor Bro Herrett retired from the Lodge. Further words of welcome were given to all present by the Wor. Master, after which he closed the Lodge and all retired to an Installation Banquet.

Lodge Enterprise No.400 has been meeting on the first Wednesday night of the month virtually since 1922. The Lodge was consecrated in 1922 under the name of Lodge Ferndale No.400. Lodge Ferndale amalgamated with Lodge Dugald Dobie and Lodge Pegasus Roberts in June 1994, to become Lodge Enterprise No.400. All these Lodges were meeting on the 1st Wednesday and, after amalgamation, continued to do so until this meeting on the 2nd October 2013. Their next and final meeting of “old” Lodge Enterprise will be on the Saturday 2nd November when the Sydney Fraternal Lodge, The Leichhardt Lodge No133, will journey up the M1 Pacific Motorway to carry out the work of the evening.

The 25th November, 2013 will be the first meeting held on the 4th Monday of the Month as the “new” Lodge Enterprise No.400 in consolidation with Lodge Friendship No.158. “New” Lodge Enterprise No.400 will then continue to hold its meetings on the 4th Monday of each Month, except for December when the meeting will be on the Third Monday owing to the Christmas festive period.
