The consolidation meeting of Lodge Enterprise No.400 held on Monday night the 25th November was a great and successful night. In some ways it was a sad night for members of Lodge Friendship No.158 for they are the brethren who have had many happy years of membership in this consolidating Lodge and now have to come to terms with the fact that Lodge Friendship no longer exists. All members of Lodge Enterprise now must get to know each other better, and work in love and harmony to make this consolidation a success. If the success of the first meeting is anything to go by there should be no doubt in its achievement.
41 members, 14 visitors and the DGIW of Districts 41 & 43 were present to see the Lodge opened by the Worshipful Master, V. Wor. Bro. Barry Stephenson. After a lengthy business session the visitors were admitted into the Lodge at 7.40pm and warmly welcomed by the Wor. Master.
The program of work for the evening was an introduction of each officer of the Lodge so that all members would become better acquainted with the officers of the consolidated lodge. Each officer was introduced by the Wor. Master and each one gave a short outline of their Masonic history, work experience and family situation. The Wor. Master then presented members of the former Lodge Friendship with a new name badge, showing that they are now members of Lodge Enterprise 400, to be worn when attending any Masonic meeting.
After several musical items by the Enterprise orchestra, further words of welcome were extended to the DGIW V. Wor. Gary Bro. Herrett, by the Wor. Master who thanked him for his presence at this historic meeting. In his reply V.W. Bro. Herrett passed on to the Lodge his congratulations on a successful meeting and best wishes for a prosperous future for the Lodge on behalf of himself and the Grand Master, Most Worshipful Bro. Derek Robson AM.
All brethren were then given further words of welcome by the Wor. Master and the Lodge closed. Finally, the Junior Warden invited all to the South to enjoy the refreshments provided.
