District 41 Christmas Hampers for Ronald McDonald House
Once again in 2013 the Lodges of District 41 volunteered to donate hampers to Ronald McDonald House, Newcastle. Commencing from October a wide variety of items were donated by most District 41 Lodges and their members to the hampers. Those items included:-
- non-perishable food, meat, fish, soup,
- non-perishable fruit and dessert items
- biscuits & pretzels
- Christmas puddings
- soft drinks
- breakfast cereals
- mens’ & ladies’ bath-room, toiletries plus shaving items
- tooth brushes and paste
- childrens’ party items
- games and toys
- travel packs
- chips & noodles
The hampers were delivered to Ronald McDonald House on 20th December where we were met by C.E.O. Ross Bingham who, together with his staff, was most delighted once again this year with the generosity of so many members of our District 41 Lodges. On behalf of the seriously ill children and their families who need to reside in Ronald McDonald House over the Christmas and New Year period, Ross expressed his sincere appreciation for the kindness and thoughtfulness extended by our members.
In adding my own thanks to our generous members and Lodges which donated from their own funds, noting the good cheer those items bring, once again this year it gave me great pride to deliver the items on your behalf.
Thank you brethren. This is what the true spirit of Freemasonry is all about!
