Gravel Returned

At Lodge Enterprise’s February meeting a Gravel was returned to Lodge Enterprise.

This Gavel was original  presented to Wor Bro Alan John Robinson at his installation into the chair of Lodge Friendship in 1981. The installing Master was Wor. Bro. Ian Plimmer. It was presented to Wor Bro Robinson by V. Wor. Bro Eric Brent..

This Gavel was found in a Flea market at the Rocks in Sydney by Wor. Bro Raymond Weidle, the W. Master of Australian Lodge of Harmony No5. He paid $10 for it, with the intention of returning it to Lodge Friendship.

Meeting up with V. Wor. Bro. Harry Horgan at a meeting in Sydney Wor Bro Weidle asked him, if he would present the gavel back to Lodge Friendship. V. Wor Bro Horgan agreed and attended the February  meeting of Lodge Enterprise (the consolidating lodge of Lodge Friendship) and presented the gavel to the W. Master, Wor Bro Arthur Rolph. Wor Bro Rolph thanked V.Wor Bro. Horgan and ask him to convey to Wor Bro. Weidle the Lodges appreciation for his actions.

Wor. Bro. Rolph gave V. Wor. Bro Horgan information

on Wor. Bro Robinson and Wor. Bro. Plimmers Masonic history for the benefit of Wor Bro. Weidle. He also gave information on the history of V. Wor. Bro Eric Brent who made and presented gavels to most of the newly installed masters at their Installations in the Newcastle and Coalfields areas, and if they were reinstalled, he would present a wooden gavel stand, plus a miniature gavel to be presented to the newly installed Masters for his wife with the instruction ” for your wife to keep order in the kitchen”. below is a photo of the gavels and stand¬† that was presented to Wor Bro Rolph.
