From the Master’s Chair
The month of May was a very busy time for Lodge Enterprise No.400 with participation in a District 14 Combined Meeting, a Fraternal Visitation to The Leichhardt Lodge in Sydney and an Initiation at our regular meeting.
At the District Meeting at Lodge Sincerity, a fine Fraternal from this lodge attended. I was allotted the duties of the Senior Warden and V. Wor. Bro. Gordon Taylor carried out the Final Charge. I thank those attending and Gordon for taking part in the ceremony of Passing a member of Lodge St. James to the 2nd Degree.
Bro. Ira Rogen a member of The Leichhardt Lodge was the candidate to be Raised to the 3rd Degree in Sydney and the Officers and I had the pleasure of carrying out the ceremony. On the Sunday morning we joined The Leichhardt members for a trip to the “Rocks” area of Sydney for a short walking tour then another ferry ride to Abbotsford for lunch at the Sydney Rowing Club. It was a wonderful weekend of renewing old friendships and making new ones.
Next day, at our own meeting, we had the pleasure of initiating Bro. Joel Hartcher. Bro. Hartcher has shown he was very keen to join with us in Freemasonry by his attendance at several of our earlier meetings, once in the company of his wife and children.
I once again offer my thanks to the Officers and Brethren who have diligently supported me and the Lodge in their participation in these events. Brethren, your support is greatly appreciated.
Brethren our Lodge’s Installation night is only 4 months away. We have some older members who have been in office for quite a considerable number of years and are seeking to be able to sit in Lodge and relax. I ask you to please give thought to taking office in the Lodge. If you do decide to take office please contact our Secretary.
At our June meeting an “Explanation of the First Tracing Board” will be given by Bro. Paul Harden. I hope to see you there,
Wor. Bro. Arthur Rolph——– Worshipful Master
