The Hospitality and Viticulture students excelled themselves at the Kurri Kurri TAFE on Wednesday evening, 22nd July. 48 masons of District 14, their ladies and friends enjoyed a lovely evening at the first District Dinner of the year held on the campus of the Kurri Kurri TAFE at the HVHA (Hunter Valley Hotel Academy).
The HVHA is a unique state-of-the-art facility that combines student learning and practical skill development with the daily workings of the Hunter Valley Hotel Academy Accommodation and Conference Centre. All of the food was cooked by students in their final year of the cooking classes. Students of the hospitality course attended to the serving of each course of the meal. Liquid refreshments were available at the bar staffed by even more students. All of the wines that were available were produced by the TAFE’s viticulture students, the grapes being grown in vineyards on the TAFE grounds.
V. Wor Bro. David Marshall DGIW District 14 was introduced by Rt. Wor. Bro. Ken Burns and he thanked everyone for their attendance, informing them that another TAFE dinner would be held on the 4th November, 2015 and it was hoped that all present would again attend.
