From the Master’s Chair
It is with great pleasure that I take this opportunity to thank brethren for their dedication to this wonderful Lodge and Masonry in general.
I especially wish to thank those brethren who gave their time to accompany me to the meeting of Lodge Morning Star No.410 who met in the Gosford Masonic Centre on the 26th October. Nine members agreed to make the journey. Nine members entered the Lodge room as a Fraternal visitation. There were two other Fraternals from local lodges and ours matched theirs in numbers. Rt Wor Bro William Driver the current AGM was in attendance with his Grand Sword Bearer and Grand Lodge Delegation.
I must also thank the brethren who helped out at the recent Masonic Centre working bee. There are new wash basins in both toilets and an electric hand dryer in the men’s toilet. New mirrors will be installed when painting of the toilet areas is completed. And, more curtains have been prepared by Mrs Delma Stephens to be placed above the storage cupboards in the South to hide items that are stored above them. Our thanks go to Mrs Stephens for her great assistance.
Bro Joel Hartcher is very keen to take his second step in Masonry and is looking forward to 23rd November when we will be working the degree.
The planned Consolidation of Lodge Star in the West Sedgwick No.189 with Lodge Enterprise No. 400 has been passed by this Lodge and I am arranging the consolidation meeting to be held on the 28th January, 2016. The meeting will have a Scottish/ Australian flavour.
The forecast rain event for the Newcastle area did not eventuate and Sunday morning was perfect weather for our game of bare foot bowls at Kotara Bowling club with the brethren of The Leichhardt Lodge. Lodge Enterprise kept up its winning ways with the bowls followed by lunch at the Eastern Tiger Restaurant at the Cardiff R.S.L. Once again my thanks go to the brethren who attended this annual event. The Saturday night Lodge meeting was also a very successful and followed by an Eastern Mediterranean supper. The menu was prepared by Bro Ian King and greatly appreciated by our Sydney Fraternal brethren.
