Lodge Enterprise No.400 – June 2017 Meeting
Masonry: “A peculiar system of morality veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.” This was the theme for the June meeting of Lodge Enterprise No. 400 on Monday night 26th June, 2017.
After opening the Lodge, and welcoming members, Lodge business items were considered and discussed. Visiting masons were then admitted and also welcomed by the Worshipful Master, Wor. Bro. Geoff Williams.
In his introduction of the night’s work, the Wor. Master mentioned Masonry and its reference to Morality through the use Allegory and Symbols. This meeting would examine the Working Tools of the three Degrees and give some explanation of their use as allegory in connection to the morality of man.
He requested Bro. Max Walker to present the 1st Degree Working Tools. After the presentation, V. Wor. Bro. Barry Stephenson read a paper explaining the Morality and Allegory of the related to these implements. This format continued into the 2nd and 3rd Degrees when Wor. Bro. Jim Richardson presented the 2nd Working Tools and Wor. Bro. Philip Holden read the Morality and Allegory explanation. The 3rd Working Tools were presented by Wor. Bro. David Padgett and the Wor. Master presented the explanation.
After closing the 3rd and then the 2nd Degrees, the Wor. Master then gave further words of welcome to the visiting Installed Masters, visiting brethren and members. He hoped that they had learned something from the lessons of the meeting and advised them to take with them and act out the meaning of Morality and Virtue, taught by allegory of the Working Tools, in their daily lives.
All then adjourned to the South to enjoy the excellent meal provided.
