The Cadet Unit with their Officers

Lodge Enterprise “ANZAC” Commemorative Service was well received by those in attendance. The contribution made by the Catafalque Party from the 211 Australian Cadet Unit was the standout feature. Five very impressive young Australians formed the ceremonial team and impressed everyone with their skill and deportment. Some of their parents were with us for the evening and were obviously very proud of their children. We thank them sincerely for their contribution to our ceremony and also their commander Captain Peter Lockwood for granting permission for their involvement.

Another young man, Bro. Joel Hatcher delivered an address entitled “The ANZAC Spirit” at the end of the ceremony and it gave the audience something to reflect upon. Bro. Joel is a fine example of the younger members coming into Freemasonry.

“Lest We Forget”

Prior to the Memorial Service the Worshipful Master, Wor. Bro. Geoff Williams, announced the retirement of our Organist, Wor. Bro. Brian Spurr, after 24 years of service to this Lodge and presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation. Wor. Bro. Brian has been a Masonic organist for many other lodges in the Newcastle area. His talents will be sorely missed.
