Fraternal to Lodge Benjamin Pryor February 2017

Fraternal to Lodge Benjamin Pryor Following an established custom, Lodge Enterprise made a fraternal visitation to Lodge Benjamin Pryor in early February. The team presented an examination of the question; “What does Freemasonry ask of us?” This examination was focussed on the personal behavioural requirements outlined in the First Degree. Those charges or parts of charges which described the behaviours, characteristics and attitudes required of Masons were introduced, delivered and discussed leading to a possible answer to our original question. The conclusion drawn was that there is indeed no absolutely definitive answer. Each individual Mason must formulate his own answer based on the information presented to him and his interpretation of it. The basis of each and every answer would of necessity be the teachings of the Volume of The Sacred Law. Together with the Worshipful Master, seven brethren formed the delegation from Lodge Enterprise. Due to the unavailability of our exponent of The Address to the Brethren our Master called for a volunteer to deliver this charge. Wor Bro Col Webber from Lodge Benjamin Pryor exhibited many of the qualities we examined in our presentation and made an excellent voluntary contribution. We extend our gratitude to Master and brethren of Lodge Benjamin Pryor for their welcome and hospitality. Long may our relationship...

At 8.30pm the lodge was closed and all present retired to the Festive Board for “Haggis and Neeps” – for those who enjoy this annual treat. A greater number sipped the ‘atholl brose’, a whiskey based drink. Before the haggis could be served, Rt. Wor. Bro. Ken Burns, Wor. Bro. Colin Wyvill and Wor. Bro. John Ross (piper) paraded it to the Junior & Senior Wardens and the Wor. Master for their consideration. After the Ode to the Haggis was ably presented by Rt. Wor. Bro. Lodge Enterprise No.400 November Meeting Report

Lodge Enterprise November, 2016 Meeting Report A paper, based on the biblical stories of the life of Ruth and Boaz, was researched by Rt. Wor. Bro. Kevin Short and delivered by him at the regular meeting of Lodge Enterprise No.400 on 28th November, 2106. This meeting was the return Fraternal visitation to Lodge Enterprise by Lodge Wallis Plains No. 4 from Maitland following the visit to Maitland by Lodge Enterprise in September. Short was very interesting and at the conclusion, the brethren showed their appreciation with spontaneous applause. The Worshipful Master of Lodge Enterprise, Wor. Bro. Geoff Williams announced that he had a 50 year of membership certificate to be presented and he asked the District Inspector of Workings for District 14 V. Wor. Bro. Tom Muir to present it to Wor. Bro. Paul Laing of Lodge Enterprise. Wor. Bro. Laing thanked the DGIW for his kind words in presenting the certificate and he also thanked him for the surprise 50 year badge which was also presented.
